With over 20 years of experience in healthcare, government, corporate, and educational design

Jodie brings function, organization, and beauty to interiors with her creative designs.

Specializing in healthcare she received a  Bachelor’s of Fine Arts Degree in 1993 from Kendall College of Art and Design, Grand Rapids, Michigan, acclaimed for their commercial interior design program. After college she worked for two architecture and design firms, Svinicki Associates she was instrumental in projects like the Ganton retirement facilities and later worked for New Horizons Technologies including projects such as the Bay Mills Bemidji Health Center. At these firms, she had the opportunity to work directly with architects and engineers and increased her knowledge of how building structures and sites impact interiors.

At Innerspace Design 1998-2002, Jodie worked on several MSHDA and HUD projects including the design of the public spaces for beautiful Cedarwood Seniors Apartments in Flushing, MI.

Having worked at furniture dealerships including M&M Office interiors 1997-1998 in Pewaukee, Progressive Planners 2002-2004, and Worksquared 2004-2010 she developed strong skills in space planning, furniture specification worked with several systems furniture including Herman Miller’s Health Care Lines with PEAK training that enabled her to design pharmacies, nurse stations, and offices. It was during this time that she also successfully passed the NCIDQ and LEED Green Associate exams.

She has provided space planning and design for the VAMC Ann Arbor, Detroit, Toledo and others starting in 2004 – 2012. Notable projects included VAMC Ann Arbor Radiology 2010-2011 on which she worked with Danielle Campbell by providing detailed plans for the nursing station and offices. During the years of 2008-20010, she worked the VAMC Ann Arbor Domino Farms acquisitions and contracting with Nancy Anderson, she designed highly customized Ethospace workstations that needed high privacy without sacrificing light by adding special rolling doors, lots of glass for light, translucent glass for visual privacy and noise reducing tiles to add noise privacy. She also worked on VA CBOC Pontiac 2010-2012 using the Planetree model with Jacqueline Ingram of the VA Detroit Medical Center.

Jodie also enjoys teaching art classes to students of all ages.
